There’s a choice of words I need to say
To the lovely, longing people of the day
Control is where it’s at, you’ve got to know
That it’s not power or laughter that flows

To master the eye inside the mind
One must master or one must find
The key to the locked proverbial door
Beyond it lies not riches but much more

There is no trick or sleight of hand
To get you to this little known land
Just know your weakness, know your strength
Know what it is that goes the length

Face with courage the demons and the fire
With your eyes and heart burns desire
And with passion, truth and a little help
You’ll feel the great things that I have felt

06.20.10 (Father’s Day)

As a father is to his son

So his son is to his father

An inspiration and example

Of a person who’s never a bother

As one rides the track of life

The other one rides close after

The tie is more than just genes

Though father is the caster

Between the two is gloppy glue

Persuasively unbreakable

A bond of super strength

For which there is no label

And though these intimate things

Are never outright said

Between the two is an exquisite love

To which there is no end.

Beside myself,

Peering through my armor,

Past my shiny metal coat,

Lays the happy harbor,

And a sturdy wooden ship,

With a mast ready to sail,

Past the overused and

Soggy, murky trails,

Beyond the conquered

Cordial islands,

To the deepest unknown,

Undiscovered highlands,

Where love is much

Less than lavish labor,

Where showing your heart

Is not a feverish favor,

A kingdom grown from

But a tiny seed,

And from the soft, silky soil,

It lavishly feeds,

An unending cycle

Of centennial life

That must not live

With a constant strife

To this pretty place

We are all so invited,

To come together,

And as one, be united.

The clarity of reality melts
Dissapates and precipitates
Precedes that which is felt
Breeding, bleeding, fleeting

Running in superlative vain
Among wicked sinners alike
And upon us lay our bane
We carry our own third reich

The malevolent demons await
Preparing our disasterous fate
As direful anticipations delay
And we squander the day away

Beneath the weary defense
There lays the lack of tense
A vicious, twisted oscillation
Day by day eats at foundation
